Workshop includes ballet technique class, pointe/pre-pointe class, conditioning, male technique class, partnering class, and repertoire class. On the last day of the workshop we will have an in studio demonstration for the dancer’s families.

Summer Ballet Workshops & Classes

Summary:
Through four different workshops and adult classes we will share our knowledge of ballet to the Yorktown Stage community. Ballet education is important to all ages as it teaches great discipline, musicality, grace, body awareness as well as fundamentals for all forms of dance. Our workshops A and B are for intermediate and advance dancers ages ranging from 9-18. These workshops will focus on teaching pure classical ballet technique while providing a diverse schedule with pointe/pre-pointe, partnering, conditioning, male technique, and repertoire classes. Our workshop C is for ages 5-8 and provides fun beginner ballet classes, concentrating on ballet positions, musicality and strength building. Workshop C will also include ballet craft classes where dancers can explore other parts of ballet such as costumes and ballet repertoire through different forms of art. Our beginner ballet workshop is for beginners ages 10 and above. It is never too late to start ballet! This workshop is for dancers taking their first ballet classes or beginners brushing up on basic ballet technique. Some of our workshops have more than one sessions, dancers can choose to take one or multiple sessions. Our adult classes are welcome to all adults, we will cater each class to the level in the room. Whether you are just starting or returning after several years off, these classes will get you on your leg, moving to the music while focusing on building strength, balance and flexibility.
